Classic Mac Games
Games and toys for the original black-and-white Macintosh: an 8 MHz 68000, a 1-bit screen and System 6. Written in C and built on a modern Mac.
Designing for 1 bit and 8 MHz
These run on a stock Mac Plus, SE or Classic with 1 to 4 MB of RAM, or in an emulator. Every frame has to read in pure black and white, and every effect has to fit a 68000 with no floating-point unit.
- One Foe, an original single-boss bullet-hell duel with four attack phases.
- Celeste Classic, a port of the PICO-8 original.
- Just One Boss, a port of the PICO-8 one-boss bullet dodger, made with its creator's permission.
- Small toys and desk accessories, built with the Retro68 cross-compiler.
Most projects include a floppy disk image you can mount in an emulator or copy to real hardware.
